Forest 1

I am starting to work on my Spirit Fighter concept paintings for a very special project i am working on. I busted this out in a couple of hours, and i was actually surprised by how well it turned out. I will keep working and posting.

Quarter No. 7!

Okay, so I have survived yet another quarter here at AI! I am so excited. I am past the point of no return and I am still breathing. That last quarter kicked my ass, but I didn't go down just yet. These are some studies I did the other day for a character class. Hope you like 'em! More to come shortly.

Alien Tower 2

After many more hours this is where I finally leave off for the week. I just have to wait for my teacher to look it over tomorrow morning and see what I need to improve on. I really like how this came out, and it reminds me of concept art from the seventies for like Star Wars or Star Trek or something. I have been listening to the soundtrack to Star Trek a lot lately, and maybe that had something to do with the over all feel. Although, the soundtrack is from the new film, I still made a piece of art that looks like it was from back in the day. Either way, I like it. Hope you guys like it too.

Alien Tower

This is a good start to my final in my background and layout design class. I perhaps feel that this is the best one I have done so far ever. It needs more, but I will sit on it and think a while. I just need to step away from it and go back when I am ready. So far it took me 3 hours to get this far.

Deadly Contemplation

A start to a promising piece.

The Haus Final?

Okay, so I spent a little more time and focus on this. I really like where I am pushing it. I am not quite happy with it, but I feel I need to just step away from it for a while and see if I like it in like a few hours or so.

Valkyrie

A painting I am currently working on. I am going to do different versions of it and pic the one I like the most.

The Village Haus!

This was done for my digital painting class. I was going for a cool Pinocchio's village from Disneyland. You know, real old world village type of architecture. I really liked this one. I feel i have come a long way with my composition choices and color selections.

Morocco!!!

Okay, so this is my attempt at creating a digital painting of a typical Moroccan street, with a little more visual elements. I really can't wait to work on other paintings on my own and to get way better at the whole digital painting process.

It's business time!

A potential business card design. Didn't have much time to develop it further, but I will do other variations later.

Digital painting

This quarter I am in a bunch of really cool classes. One of these classes is my background and layout design class. This is cool, because it goes along the lines of what I want to do later on after I graduate. I basically want to be a story development artist for games and animation. This was a critique piece that my teacher made of an earlier attempt by me to do a cool Moroccan street scene. I will post what I am working on after I am done.

Roughs/ Studies

These are a couple of rough drawings that I am working on for a background and layout design class. My theme is a Moroccan market scene. I pln on doing a few more studies of some architecture and items, and then I will start on the digital painting using Photoshop CS4.

This is my very first attempt at working with a Wacom tablet. It is a rough sketch of the old wise medicine man who trains the Spirit Fighter and raises him up from a boy to the warrior he will become. It is so fun! I am going to enjoy working this way. I am a little worried that I have to play catch up but I am sure I will prevail.

Game modeling final

This is a Sci-Fi hallway that I had to design with lighting, texture maps, normal maps and detail.

Spirit Chief?

This was the back panel for a booklet I made. The idea was that it was a little art booklet that would come with the game as a companion to the immersion of the character by the players.

Scary...

This was a concept I drew up for a book cover illustration. The story, from what I was told was a scary, thrilling, ghost story.

More charcoal drawings

The Snow Raiders

character sketches of some raiders from "Legend".

The legend awaits....

The game I am working on at the moment. This was the promo image I made for a previous assignment in PhotoshopCS3.

Dead men tell no tales!

Do you fear death?

Steam Rifle

The second game prop. It is an old west attempt at a sniper rifle. This also has steampunk elements.

Old West Steam Pistol

This is yet another assignment for my 3D Modeling class, but this time I got to create a prop from the game that I am designing. The game is more or less a western of epic proportions. The player's weapons can be modified to be more powerful or accurate, and this is a modified six-shooter that has steampunk-like upgrades.

The Rocketeer!

I have always loved the Disney film, "The Rocketeer", and also the comic books as well. When I was a kid, I loved the part in the movie where they show an animated propaganda film for the Nazis where they all had rocket packs. ( Don't get me wrong, I loved the animation and the art, not the propaganda) So, I decided to draw my version of The Rocketeer and fulfill my childhood delights.

3D Modeling Midterm!

Since my major is Game Art and Design, this quarter I am taking a 3D modeling class, where we learn how to model objects that would normally go into a video game. This was my first attempt to model an old-time gas pump and then texture it to look like it is old and rusty. My initial thoughts in my design were to model something that a player would see in a junk yard. Later on, I will post my step by step with descriptions. Program: 3D Studio Max 2009.
