Week 4 Progress / Pre-Midterm

This is a snippet of the three environments I am building for my portfolio this quarter. It has been a lot of long hours of sit down time and 3D modeling, researching, and cleaning up of geometry. I am right on course in my projected schedule and I will have to really put it into the burner to get this done by week 11. I am tired, but I am happy that it was made by determination, hard work, and creativity. More to come.

Mission Control Week 3

I still have some stuff to do but here I added keyboards, chairs, and more monitors. I also got rid of the previous "double viewing screen" and made just one big one. Still cranking out assets, but for now I would like to say that this is what I have for week 3 of 11 weeks of my assignment; ahead of schedule.

Science Lab Week 3 (cont'd)

Here is the layout of the lab as it is up to week 3 of me working on it. I am very happy how it is turning out and I am pumped to get started on making it look as good as possible when i do my render passes with all the textures in place.

Space Station Science Lab

I am working on building the science lab that resides as one of many labs within the space station. This particular lab is used to treat artifically grown earth plants in a space environment using soil samples from samples collected from the moon and Mars. This is important because plants as we know aide in the production of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide. If scientists can test the growth and development of these samples and be successful, a livable eco system could be artificially implimented can can be worked to create a human habitat for future inhabitation.

Render Panel

This is the third and final environment I will be building this quarter. As it looks so far, there will be much more to come, this was just done in a four hour period. I was working rather slowly today so I think that next week I will kick it up a notch.

MC Lower Floor

I think that is nothing short of saddening when I saw that NASA has retired all space shuttle projects. I hope that when my portfolio is completed, I can give a little justice to all those who worked countless hours in search of the great beyond. Space travel and exploration has been an interest of mine since I was a small kid. Now I hope there can be more out there and I really hope that NASA can continue to inspire even us artists like they did with me so many years ago.

Mission Control

The second third of my first environment for my portfolio thus far. I am REALLY liking how this is turning out. I am very excited to texture them and see what I have in my head come to fruition.

New AO passes

A few more modifications and clean ups of my first third of my first portfolio environment. I still need to clean up a few more things, but for now this is where it stands. I will start working on Command Control.

Portfolio Environment A : Shuttle Launch

Here is the work I will be doing for my portfolio this quarter. I am in 2 classes that almost have the same curriculum: Senior Project Planning, and Advanced Game Modeling. Both require that I produce work for my environments and I chose to do the grand finale of my portfolio first. This is going to take as much time as I can give it this quarter for all 11 weeks. The hard part is going to be unwrapping everything and texturing everything.

I really want to make my portfolio exciting and awesome. I have a lot of work ahead of me....
